They have been steamrolling opponents all season, and they’ve really picked up the pace lately, winning their last six by an average of 31.7 ppg and covering the number by 13.1 ppg. Wake Forest has had their defensive struggles in the back half of ACC play, surrendering an average of 72.2 ppg in their last eight, including giving up 85 to NC State and 83 to Virginia, two teams with a combined 11-25 record in ACC action. Bad time to have defensive problems. How about extra incentive? Duke won’t lose focus because despite dropping just one conference game, Louisville and Clemson are just a game back in the standings. It’s also Senior Night and no one wants to look bad on that special night.
