Here’s a surprising stat, according to KenPom, the Yellowjackets have a better defense than the Cavs. They’re allowing ACC opponents to shoot 47.2% from the field and put up 71.4 ppg. They’re still slow as molasses but they do manage to score 66.8 ppg in their conference games. But, what’s most important, people are still playing the total on Cavs games as if they are still the same team that was top-5 in scoring defense for the last 13 years. That’s why we’ve seen the Over cash in 14 of their 20 ACC games, including 11 of their last 14. They’ve also seen it hit in 11 of their 14 games away from Charlottesville.
