Yes, the RedHawks finished second to the Zips in the regular season, but they were three games back. The only time these played this season, Akron shot 55.6% from the field and won by 27 points. They outrebounded them by 20 and forced Miami into 15 turnovers. The Zips have averaged 95 ppg in their last four, including putting up 96 and 100 in the first two games of the tourney. Lunardi has them as a 13-seed and I wouldn’t be surprised if that feels a little disrespectful to this Akron team that has lost just one MAC game. I think the Zips make a statement tonight.
