The line is low because the Colts are locked in at the No. 3 seed. So there is a perception about Indy's motivation for this matchup. However, Colts coach Chuck Pagano is concerned about how poorly the Colts have played in their last three games, especially after last week's embarrassing 42-7 road loss to the Cowboys.
Pagano realizes the Colts can't enter the playoffs at such a low ebb. They have to start playing better so an effort should be forthcoming here. I anticipate Andrew Luck and the rest of the starters to play until this game is out of hand.
Given the Titans' lack of talent, multiple injuries and no incentive the Colts can name their score - if they want. And I believe they want.
The Titans are the most uncompetitive team in the NFL. They have lost nine in a row and are 3-18-1 ATS during their past 22 games. The Titans are down to third-string journeyman quarterback Charlie Whitehurst and have multiple defensive injuries. The Colts blasted the Titans and Whitehurst, 41-17, earlier this season.
The Colts' major weaknesses are a bad ground attack and not much of a pass rush. But Tennessee ranks second to last in run defense. The Titans also have allowed the second most points per game. Their regular offensive tackles are all hurt. Tennessee is averaging just 10.3 points in its last three games.
So I'm going to go ahead and lock in now at this number.
(Editor's note: Stephen Nover is 5-1 the past two weeks on his premium/free NFL plays as he goes for his 19th winning season in the NFL during the past 21 years. Stephen has three other plays in addition to this selection, including his NFC Game of the Year.)
