Miami is just 1-5-1 ATS the past seven times it has been favored in ACC action. The Hurricanes have lost four of those games outright, including three times when they were favorites of nine points or more.

The setting isn't good for Miami either despite being at home. That's because the Hurrianes had to play two days ago instead of Sunday against Boston College because of a winter storm. That game went double overtime before the Hurricanes managed to prevail. But three of their players logged at least 45 minutes and the Hurricanes do not have much depth. That physical toll could hurt them here.

Virginia Tech can frustrate teams with its zone defense and solid guard play. They also are the fresher team. The Hokies will be playing for just the second time in nine days. They have lost 14 straight conference road games, but also are 6-3 ATS when taking eight or more points in league action.
