This has been a back-and-forth series with the last two games going under the total. I see this Game 6 going over the total. The Islanders have been getting super net play from 30-year-old Thomas Greiss. He's stopped 92 of the last 95 shots he's faced. But Greiss has played in every game of the series. Prior to this matchup, he had logged only 40 minutes of Stanley Cup time.
I don't see Greiss coming up with the great saves this time around. He's been playing above his head. The Panthers have been close, making several outstanding shots that have been stopped. Florida's cause is helped by the return of center Vincent Trocheck, who was on a hot spell before suffering a foot injury on March 29. He returned for the first time in 10 games in the team's last meeting two days ago.
Judging by Saturday's results, teams have loosened up late in their respective series. All three Saturday games went over the total with a combined 25 goals scored. Florida has scored three or more goals in 16 of its last 22 games. The over is 11-2-5 in the Panthers' past 18 games when playing on one day's rest.
The over also is an impressive 6-1-1 the last eight times the Islanders have hosted the Panthers.
