Stephen Nover's Run Line Dominator
(MLB) Toronto vs. Boston,
Point Spread: 1.50 | 140.00 Toronto (Away)
Result: Loss
Chris Sale leads the American League in ERA and WHIP. It's understandable he opened a 3-to-1 home favorite against the rebuilding Blue Jays and rookie starter Ryan Borucki.

But here's why I want to take a shot with the Blue Jays at this monster plus price: Sale has thrown the grand total of five innings since July 27. Not only is Sale going to be rusty, but the Red Sox are going to be super cautious with him. Boston's plan is to limit Sale to 40 pitches than replacing him with Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi has given up 12 earned runs in his last four appearances spanning 14 2/3 innings. During this time frame, Eovaldi has yielded 23 hits and five walks. He would not be a 3-to-1 favorite if he were starting this game.

So I believe there is real value to taking the Blue Jays and as a hedge I'm going to play them on the run line where they are getting 1 1/2 runs yet still are a big 'dog. Boston would be 0-4 in its last four games if laying 1 1/2 runs.

Borucki has turned in eight quality outings in his last 13 starts. He held the Rays to two runs on three hits in six innings during his previous start this past Tuesday.

Toronto hasn't been playing bad either going 10-9 in its last 19 games. The Blue Jays are coming off a 2-2 split against the Indians this past weekend.
