(MLB) Detroit vs. Chi White Sox,
Point Spread: -1.50 | -137.00 Chi White Sox (Home)
Result: Loss
The pitching matchup, spot and huge talent edge all are set up here for the White Sox. I want to get involved with the White Sox and the best way to do that is cut the monster juice down by playing them on the run line laying 1 1/2 runs.
Detroit is playing for the ninth time in seven days. This is the Tigers' fourth different venue during this span. Their bullpen, not good to begin with, carries a heavy fatigue rating.
The White Sox, by contrast, are rested, refreshed and confident. They enjoyed a day off on Thursday while the Tigers had to play a road doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Lucas Giolito is one of the elite pitchers in the American League. He's been dominant in his last three starts at Guaranteed Rate Field with a 1.71 ERA.
The Tigers are going with rookie Casey Mize, who the White Sox just saw on Aug. 19. Chicago got to Mize for three runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Mize is one of the best pitching prospects in baseball, but he's being force-fed this season. His ERA is 6.75 in four starts.
