Stephen Nover's MLB Tuesday Underdog Top Ticket - 5-1 Last 6 'dog plays!
(MLB) NY Mets vs. Philadelphia,
Money Line: 115.00 Philadelphia (Home)
Result: Win
The Phillies are banged-up with multiple injuries. But I'm attracted to them as a home 'dog in a pitching matchup of Rick Porcello versus Jake Arrieta.
I see the veteran Arrieta stepping up in the wake of injuries to starting pitchers Zach Wheeler and Spencer Howard. Arrieta has a 3.55 ERA in his last two starts. He holds a lifetime 3.17 ERA in 15 starts versus the Mets.
Philadelphia has won 10 of its last 12 home games.
It's an insult to Cy Young that Porcello once won that award. He may be the worst Cy Young Award winner of all-time. Porcello is nothing more than an innings-eater and not a very good one at that. He's been a major disappointment for the sucker Mets with a 1-4 record and 6.07 ERA.
This is the Phillies' third look at Porcello this season. Porcello has a 4.50 ERA in two starts against Philadelphia.
The Mets have lost seven of the last nine meetings in this series.
Wrong team favored here.
