Stephen Nover's CFB Free Saturday Play
(NCAAF) Liberty vs. Ole Miss,
Point Spread: 9.50 | -110.00 Liberty (Away)
Result: Loss
This matchup features two upper tier quarterbacks, Malik Willis and Matt Corral. This is Willis' chance to prove himself to the pro scouts facing an SEC team. Mississippi ranks 104th in total yards defensively while surrendering nearly 30 points per game. So he's not facing an elite unit.

Corral is an outstanding pro prospect, but he's not nearly 100 percent dealing with an ankle injury. This has hampered his performance in Mississippi's last two games. LSU held him to a season-low 185 passing yards and Corral was held without a TD throw by Auburn last Saturday.

Making matters worse for Corral is the Rebels have wide receiver injuries. His top three wide receivers - Dontario Drummond, Braylon Sanders and Jonathan Mingo - are either questionable or out. Mingo definitely won't play due to a foot injury. The Rebels' offensive line isn't as good after losing left guard Ben Brown three games ago.

Willis, a talented dual threat, has major incentive. So does Liberty coach Hugh Freeze. He left on very bad terms with Mississippi after coaching there for five seasons from 2012-2016. Mississippi has less motivation for this non-conference matchup.

Liberty has covered each of the last eight times it has been an underdog spanning the past three years going 6-2 SU in those games.
