The Diamondbacks are averaging an MLB-low 2.0 runs per game. Their manager, Torey Lovullo, is a main character in any discussion about who the worst manager in baseball is.

But I find myself attracted to the Diamondbacks because of the underdog price and pitching matchup.

Washington has lost 23 of its last 32 home games.

Arizona is pitching Merrill Kelly, who is becoming the ace of the Diamondbacks. He hasn't been scored on this season in his first two starts spanning 9 1/3 innings. These outings were against the Padres and Astros, two far superior teams than the Nationals. Kelly has struck out 13.

The Nationals are going with Erick Fedde, a No. 5 type pitcher who has yet to impress. Washington's top bullpen arms carry some fatigue, too, after Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of Arizona.
