The Kings hosted the Kraken two days ago. LA scored eight goals - and lost! Seattle's 9-8 overtime victory was the highest-scoring game of the season. 

So how did the Kings react? They called off Wednesday's practice. Didn't have media availability and cut goalie Cal Petersen, who was in the first season of a three-year, $15 million contract. 

I have to believe the Kings are primed to play the defensive game of their lives today. LA had given up an average of 3.3 goals per game during their previous three games before its insane game against Seattle. 

The Kings draw the nomadic Coyotes, who are in the 11th game of an NHL-record tying 14-game road trip. The Coyotes rank 26th in scoring, get off the fewest shots on net and have been idle since Sunday. The Coyotes figure to be out of rhythm and rusty. Their last three games had been spaced two days apart before this extended time off. The Under is 10-4 in Arizona's last 14 games.
