It's easy to overlook Toronto's Chris Bassitt. But all the guy does is win. Bassitt is 49-27 the past four seasons. Bassitt is in great form for this matchup going 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA in his past four starts. He has a 14-inning scoreless streak against the Brewers, too.
The Blue Jays have picked up their pace winning 10 of their last 15 games. The Brewers are an overachieving 39-28. They are likely due for some regression.
Milwaukee hasn't been scoring lately, averaging fewer than three runs a game during their last eight games.
This puts a lot of pressure on rookie Tobias Myers, the Brewers' starter. Myers is coming off the best game of his career, a 10-0 win against the Tigers this past Friday. Myers went eight innings holding Detroit to one hit.
Prior to that, though, Myers couldn't get out of the fifth inning against the White Sox giving up five earned runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Even with that outstanding performance against the weak-hitting Tigers, Myers is 1-2 with a 4.28 ERA, which balloons to 6.75 when he pitches at home. Myers also threw a career-high 100 pitches against the Tigers.
(Editor's note: Stephen Nover is 6-2 on his last eight baseball plays and 19-6 on his WNBA plays this season. He is 17-6, too, on his last 23 Canadian Football League plays. Stephen's Wednesday card is headed by his NBA Game of the Month.)
