Stephen Nover's MLB Sunday Free Play
(MLB) Mets (NYM) vs. Angels (LAA),
Money Line: -140.00 Mets (NYM) (Away)
Result: Loss
In case you didn't notice, the Angels put sparkplug Luis Rengifo on the injured list due to right wrist inflammation. Rengifo might be the Angels' best player with Mike Trout out. He leads the team in batting at .300 and in stolen bases with 24.

The combination of Rengifo being out and a pitching matchup of Mets lefty Jose Quintana vs Griffin Canning puts me on the Mets.

Quintana is a crafty, veteran lefty. He has won both of his post-All Star starts giving up two runs in 11 innings. The Angels are batting .213 against lefties in their last 10 games.

Canning is terrible. He has a 5.25 ERA and 1.41 WHIP. His ERA in his last three starts is 8.16. Canning has surrendered at least one homer in each of his last nine starts. The Mets rank fifth in homers and seventh in runs.
