Stephen Nover's August Total of the Month
(MLB) Miami vs. LA Angels,
Total: 8.50 | 108.00 Under
Result: Loss
The Angels are No. 2 in runs scored. They are averaging 6.5 runs per game during their last six games while batting .300 during this span. Now they face Jarred Cosart, who has put together back-to-back excellent starts.

Cosart isn't nearly as good as he has shown lately and Miami's bullpen has fatigue issues. I'm expecting the Angels to continue their hot hitting ways. The Angels have seen Cosart twice this season when he was pitching for Houston. Cosart was 0-2 in those games with a 5.68 ERA.

The Marlins, on the other hand, should do their share of damage against southpaw Wade LeBlanc, a fringe starter/reliever who has become a journeyman. He's been toiling in the minors, but is called up for this start with Garrett Richards out for the season.

The Marlins are familar with the 30-year-old LeBlanc, who played for Miami from 2011 until last June. LeBlanc has a 5.60 ERA in three lifetime starts versus the Marlins.

The Marlins are 14-5-2 to the over in their last 21 games against a lefty. The over also has cashed nine of the past 11 times the Marlins have gone against a southpaw on the road.
