I'm more impressed with Louisiana Tech defeating Louisiana-Lafayette, 48-20, than North Texas steamrolling a very weak SMU squad.

North Texas has a lot of holes to fill this season. I see a regression for the Mean Green, which has to replace all of their top skill position players and seven defensive starters. I also don't see them coming up with 34 takeaways like they did last season.

The big question with Louisiana Tech was the quarterback position. But Cody Sokol has answered that question. One of the most impressive things Sokol did was spread the ball around as Tech piled up 533 yard of offense against Lafayette. Sokol has a very good running back to rely on in Kenneth Dixon.
