Oakland is trying to win consecutive road games for the first time since July 26-27. The A's have southpaw Jon Lester on the mound. Lester is pitching well, but I don't see the A's winning this game.

There is outstanding value on the home 'dog Mariners, who are starting underrated Chris Young. Seattle is 7-1 in Young's last eight starts and 9-3 in his past 12 home outings. Young is at his best when pitching in a spacious pitcher's park such as Safeco Field, where he is 5-2 with a 2.14 ERA in his last seven starts there. Young has a 2.25 ERA in two starts against the A's this season at Safeco.

Oakland has been in a dreadful slide losing 12 of its last 16. The A's are 9-24 in their last 33 road contests. The Mariners are 29-18 against southpaws. Lester is just 3-3 with a 4.89 ERA in eight starts at Safeco Field.
