Taking the WHITE SOX here. I know Shields was pounded in his Sox debut. And his last 2 starts have been absolutely horrible. 4+ innings, 16 hits, 17 earned. I attribute that to knowing his time in SD was coming to an end, and overthrowing to show his new team that he hadn't lost anything. But, who the heck am I? Just some guy trying to find value betting bases. Shields is not the 'Big Game James' of years past. Not even sure what that means since he is 3-6 5.46 ERA in 11 post season starts. Regardless. He had an ERA of 3.06 before his last 2 starts. I think he regroups here as he is on a team that can hit. Has a decent pen. And he isn't the #1 or even the #2 so that takes some pressure off of him. Boyd is a youngster who I really don't have a feel on yet. I just think at this price, we play the veteran with something to prove. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX
