Betting sports can be difficult. But I always try to simplify things when i can.

I'm primarily a situational capper, who also likes to use trends, scheduling and perceived motivation levels (from my own perspective) to make my decisions.

Whenever I can, I employ the "KISS" method. Keep It Simple Stupid!

Here's a great common sense play. New York could/should in fact be a much larger favorite in this spot in my opinion.

For argument's sake, let's call these starters a "wash." The Guardians' Alex Cobb and the Yankees' Carlos Rodon struggled in their respective first appearances, but for the most part they're equal.

The Guardians though come to New York off a thrilling Division Series win over Detroit and I think they'll have a bit of a hang-over here.

The Yanks were able to take care of KC in four games and the extra couple days off will prove to be big here.

I like NEW YORK to clobber the visiting side in Game 1, so lay the price with confidence.
