AAA's VERY EARLY *Clemson/Georgia Tech* BLOCKBUSTER!
(NCAAF) Clemson vs. Georgia Tech,
Point Spread: -2.50 | -110.00 Clemson (Away)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* BLOCKBUSTER on Clemson.

Clemson hasn't beaten Georgia Tech in Atlanta since 2003, but I think can escape with an elusive victory today. The Tigers have been rolling along during the Cole Stoudt stretch doing just enough to win games, but the team as a whole will have to play much better to come away with a convincing victory today. Clemson welcomes back Deshawn Watson and obviously the offense becomes much more dynamic. With Stoudt running the show, the offense has gotten much better on the run game and the short passing attack, the execution in those two departments has grown exponentially. But now Watson adds a completely different dimension, the long ball is a legitimate threat that Georgia Tech must now take into consideration on every snap. Note that the Yellow Jackets defense has given up a ton of points and yardage this year. For Georgia Tech it's basically feast or famine on defense, giving up 70 yard runs or 68 yard passes, but being able to also create turnovers well. The Yellow Jackets excel offensively though, this will be the Tigers biggest challenge today. Georgia Tech is led by QB Justin Thomas, who is a dual threat pivot. Last year the Tigers totally stuffed the dive play and forced Georgia Tech to go outside where Quan Christian had a field day blowing up plays. We can also expect the visitors to key on the QB at every opportunity; Thomas is small and Clemson will look to punish him on every option play they run, it is a free chance to legitimately hit the QB. Ultimately though, I feel that the Tigers defensive line is better than it was last year and that it has a distinct advantage in the trenches. Note that Clemson is a perfect 3-0 ATS the last two seasons when playing with eight days of rest, while Georgia Tech is just 5-7 ATS in its last 12 after two or more consecutive SU victories. I like CLEMSON to find a way to get the job done at the end of the day.
