Point Spread: 14.50 | -107.00 San Jose State (Away)

This is an 8* SCORPION on San Jose State.
I think the Spartans will keep this one a lot more competitive than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe and look for them to come away with a comfortable ATS cover once the final whistle sounds. Utah State at 8-3 is obviously bowl eligible. San Jose State will be playing for pride today and I do think it can catch Utah State off guard; to say this is a "revenge" game would be a bit of an understatement I think as SJSU has lost five straight in the series including a 40-12 setback in San Jose last year. Utah State comes in a bit complacent I believe after four straight victories and is on its fourth starting QB of the year, freshman Kent Myers, because of injury. Senior Blake Jurich will get the start for SJSU. From a situational stand point, this play is sound, but from a trend based angle, it becomes even stronger; note that San Jose State is 11-6 ATS in its last 17 on the road and 10-8 ATS in its last 18 following a conference game, while the Aggies are 1-4 ATS at home this year and just 2-3 ATS vs. teams with losing records. I think that the situation, the numbers and the trends all point to SAN JOSE STATE as the sharp move here.
