Some times I feel that it's necessary to completely dissect a game, look at every single angle, different player matchups, movtivational and situational factors, and in others, I think that a more common sense approach is the best way to handicap it. That's the case here, this sets up as a classic "look ahead" spot for Tampa Bay and I think the visitors can at the very least keep this one close enough to sneak in through the back door ATS. Tampa is coming off a 5-3 loss at home to Washington on Tuesday and heads to the Nation's capital on Saturday. Carolina has struggled for the most part all year, but note that the Hurricanes are 12-10 (+2.7 units) after three or more consecutive losses, while the Lightning are 10-11 (-2.3 units) in their last 21 following a loss by 2 goals or more. In a game which I believe will be decided late or in extras, I will gladly lay what I feel to be a very reasonable mid-sized price for the extra 1.5 goals of insurance; play on the HURRICANES.
