AAA's VERY EARLY 10* O/U "ASSASSIN!" (OFF PERFECT SWEEP!)
(NHL) Carolina vs. Philadelphia,
Total: 5.50 | -127.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* O/U ASSASSIN on the OVER between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Neither of these team's has been playing to many high-scoring games of late but for a number of different reasons I believe the conditions are finally right for a shootout and expect this total to eclispe the posted number as it comes down the stretch. Philadelphia has slowly started to turn things around after a dismal start, it's recorded a point in a season-high four straight games and has started to get production from the likes of Wayne Simmonds, Sean Couturier and Matt Read. Most recently the Flyers would beat New Jersey 4-1 on Thursday. Carolina would love to be moving in the same direction, it reamins among the league's lowest scoring teams at just 2.14 goals per game though: "Our guys care. Our guys want to get out of the hole we're in," coach Bill Peters assessed last night. "They work hard on gamedays and in practice. If we stay with it, we'll be all right." But if history is any precedence, then the Hurricanes have to be liking their chances here, the last time these teams got together, Carolina would get the 6-5 shootout win on April 13th. In fact, the Hurricanes won all four meetings between the clubs last year. But notching a win will be easier said than done for the visitors today as Philadelphia's power play is among the best in the league so far this season at 23.2 percent, scoring one in six straight games; conversely though, the Flyers penalty kill is one of the worst in the league at just 74.2 percent. Note that Carolina has seen the total go OVER the number seven of its last 11 road games when the total in the contest is set at 5.5, while Philadelphia has seen it sail above the number in five of nine this year following a divisional contest. In my opinion, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the sharp move here.
