Point Spread: 1.50 | -200.00 Nashville (Away)
Result: Win
This is a 5* BIG-CHALK PUCK-LINE DESTRUCTION on the Nashville Predators.
I believe we're getting excellent value here. These two teams are very evenly matched and the fact that we can get 1.5 goals at just -200 seems like a real bargain to me, so in game which I predict to be finished in the final moments or in extra's, I'll gladly lay the price for the extra insurance. It's also hard not to imagine the Blackhawks getting caught "looking ahead" to the Winter Classic on New Years Day, leaving the door for the Preds (and us!), to take advantage of: "This is a huge game for us," Nashville forward Eric Nystrom said yesterday. "(Chicago) has been playing really well, we've been playing well all season long, and we've had some good matchups so far this year." The Preds have won 11 of their last 15 and have produced 18 goals in their last four games, most recently destroying Philadelphia 4-1 on Saturday. These are a couple of the league's best teams obviously, both dominate at both ends of the ice, but this is simply a great situational play; note that Nashville is 12-3 (+8.8 units) this season in revenging a loss vs. an opponent, while Chicago is just 6-7 (-5 units) this year after a win by 2 goals or more. After taking all of the above situational, motivational and trend based factors into consideration, I'm playing NASHVILLE on the PUCK LINE.
