If you've followed me for any length of time you know that I have maintained that I would gladly lay -500 odds if I thought the line should in fact be -800. Some times a favorite is a favorite for a reason and in this case, I definitely feel that the home side should be a bigger one. I think this sets up as a letdown spot for the Coyotes who would break an 0-5-2 slide with Thursday's 3-1 win at Toronto; note though that goaltender Mike Smith posted a 3.57 GAA during a six game losing streak prior to the victory over the Buds. The Sens already hammered Arizona 5-1 on January 10th and will be eager to duplicate that effort after falling to 2-3-1 following Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Stars. While Sens goaltender Robin Lehner has struggled of late, a date vs. the toothless Desert Dogs is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked in my opinion. I think Arizona returns to mediocrity after its big win over Toronto, while the "hungry" home side takes advantage. Consider a second look at the SENATORS in this one.
