This is a 10* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the LA Lakers.
For a number of different reasons I am expecting this total to sneak below the posted number once the final buzzer sounds. Both teams are injured, especially the Thunder who will be without the services of both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. It doesn't take a genius to realize that OKC is going to have some issues putting the points on the board today, the Thunder are just 4-10 SU when neither superstar is on the floor. LA could care less about the Thunder's issues though, it's been out of the playoff mix since well before the All-Star break, but the team will look to take advantage here and to string together a fourth straight victory. Note that the Lakers are still worst in the league in allowing 106 PPG average, but they've lowered that figure to just 100.3 during the win streak and only 95.0 over the last two contests. The Thunder will be forced to lean on their strength, a tough defensive corps which limits opponents to just 42.8 percent shooting. Note that OKC has seen the total go UNDER the number in 18 of 25 vs. teams with losing records, while LA has seen the total dip below the posted number in six of its last 11 off an upset win as an underdog. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the sharp move in this one.
