This is a 10* TOTAL ART OF THE GAME on the UNDER between the Nashville Predators and the New York Rangers.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to fall below the posted number once the final horn blares. These two teams are storming towards the playoffs, but each comes in off losses; Nashville has in fact lost two straight, a 4-2 setback to Minnesota on Thursday and a 4-3 loss vs. Detroit on Sunday. The Predators will look to return to form, after giving up nine goals while winning five straight they've gone 2-3-1 with 19 goals allowed. The Rangers suffered their first regulation loss since Feb. 7th in Nashville in Saturday's 4-2 setback at Philadelphia. New York has been getting the job done behind strong play from backup goaltender Cam Talbot who has posted a 2.80 GAA while starting 12 of the last 13 games. Note that Nashville has seen the total go UNDER the number in 12 of 20 non-conference games this year and in six of nine after allowing four goals or more in its previous contest. And note that New York has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of ten this season after a loss by two goals or more in its previous contest. All signs do indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this contest.
