This is a clear pitching mismatch in my opinion, I expect the reigning NHL MVP and Cy Young Award winner to come in on top form and to out-duel his over-rated counterpart. Note that Kershaw was 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA last year; also note that the big southpaw is also 3-0 on opening day, allowing one earned run in 25 2/3's innings of work, to go along with 26 K's and three walks. James Shields was 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA for Kansas City last year, but obviously draws a tough match-up to start the season. Both teams completely overhauled their line-ups, but MLB handicapping primarily comes down to the starting pitching and in this case, Kershaw clearly holds the upper hand. I'm laying the price with confidence on the DODGERS.
