Game Of The Month (NHL): AAA's 10* NON-CONF. T.O.M. (100% w/ NHL TOTALS Y-T-D!)
(NHL) Boston vs. Colorado,
Total: 5.00 | -133.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* NON-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the UNDER between the Boston Bruins and the Colorado Avalanche.

The Bruins are 0-4 to open the season. The total has gone OVER the number in all four games. The Avs are 1-1 to open the 2015/16 campaign and they've also seen the total fly above the number in both of their games. Despite all of the offensive fireworks that each team has been a part of to open the year, we feel the conditions are now right for a more traditional, hard-hitting, scrappy, low-scoring affair. Boston's defense has uncharacteristically allowed 16 goals through the first three games; remember, the Bruins would finish with a 2.45 GAA to rank fourth in the Eastern Conference last season: "You have to make good saves at the right times," Boston goaltender Tukka Rask said last night. "And then you can't afford mistakes. So I just have to get better than that, and we'll be fine." Note that Rask is 0-3-1 vs. the Avalanche, despite posting a very respectable 1.98 GAA in the process. Colorado could obviously care less about the Bruins' problems, it's trying to put last year's disappointing season in the rearview mirror and has to be feeling pretty confident today as it's won four of the last five in this series. Semyon Varlamov gets the call for the home side, the last time he faced the B's he'd stop 22 shots in a 3-2 OT win back on January 21st. Note that Boston has seen the total go UNDER the number in nine of its last 15 after playing three consecutive home games, while Colorado has seen the total stay below the posted number in 21 of its last 37 following a victory of two goals or more. We think the desperate visiting side will risk life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes today, if you like wide-open, explosive affairs, then this one definitely is not for you, all signs do indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this contest.
