This is a 7* "MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the New York Yankees.
Here is a clear pitching mismatch, I like the visitors to build off yesterday's win and to find a way to get the job done a the end of the night. The Yankees send Masahiro Tanaka (12-3, 2.27 ERA) to the hill; Tanaka leads the league in wins after giving up season highs of four earned runs and nine hits over seven innings while stirking out a season-low three in his team's 7-4 win over Minnesota on Thursday. Obviously it wasn't his best outing, but the fact that he got the win in the end speaks volumes about his overall consistency this year. After losing five straight and nine of 11, New York has quietly turned things around in winning four of its last five, including yesteday's 5-3 series-opening effort. The Yanks have dominated this series as well, they've won five straight and 12 of 14 from the Tribe, going 26-8 since 2009 against Cleveland. The Indians are now moving in the opposite direction, they've lost five of seven at home after winning 11 of their previous 12. The home side sends Trevor Bauer (2-4, 4.42 ERA) to the hill; Bauer did not receive a decision in his team's 5-4 road win over the Dodgers last week, giving up three runs and six hits over 5 2/3's innings. In his only start vs. the Yanks he gave up three runs over 6 1/3's innings, a 7-0 home loss on May 13th, 2013. Note that this is the first time that the Indian's have ever faced Tanaka, which also definitely works in our favor here. One other player to keep your eyes on today is New York veteran Derek Jeter who is batting .362 over a 12-game road slugging stretch, he's also a career .338 hitter vs. Cleveland. Also note that Indians leadoff hitter Michael Bourn is out at least three weeks due to a hamstring injury. I don't anticipate an upset here, look for Tanaka to outduel his counterpart as the YANKEES deliver the goods.
