The Dodgers won 1-0 with a walk off sac-fly in the bottom of the ninth last night and I look for the team to build off that performance and to end the first half in the winners circle. The visitors send Tyson Ross (7-9, 2.93 ERA) to the hill; Ross is coming off a loss in which he gave up two earned runs on six hits over six innings in his team's 2-1 setback vs. Colorado on Tuesday. Ross has been decent so far this year but has frequently the victim of poor run support. Note that Ross is just 3-4 with a pedestrian 4.05 ERA on the road this season. The home side counters with Hyun-Jin Ryu (9-5, 3.65 ERA) who is coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up seven earned runs over just 2 1/3's innings vs. the Tigers on Tuesday. Like Ross though, Ryu for the most part has been as solid as you could possibly ask for over the first half, note that he's 3-3 with a 4.66 ERA in front of the home town crowd this year. While I do believe the starters are a "wash", I'm going to give the Dodgers the clear nod at the plate, expect the home side to take advantage of his matchup and to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night; play on the DODGERS.
