AAA's VERY EARLY MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT! RED HOT 8-1 (89%) RUN!
(MLB) Colorado vs. Pittsburgh,
Money Line: -182.00 Pittsburgh (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 6* "MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

I feel that the clear talent discrepancy on the mound absolutely justifies in laying this larger price. The home side turns to Jeff Locke (2-1, 2.89 ERA) who has looked great since returning to the starting rotation in early June, walking just six batters over 50 2/3's innings of work. Locke faced the Rockies on August 11th and gave up two runs over 5 2/3's innings on the road, leaving without a decision in the 3-2 setback. Note that Locke will benefit in likely not having to face Rockies' slugger Troy Tulowitzki, who left yesterday's game with a leg injury. Pittsburgh will now look to sweep Colorado for the first time ever at PNC Park in facing Tyler Maztek (1-4, 4.97 ERA) who went 0-2 with a ballooned 6.75 ERA over his final two starts prior to the break. Note that Maztek could also be without the services of slugger Justin Morneau who has been out with a stiff neck. This is a big opportuity for both Locke and the Pirates and I don't anticipate a lapse in concentration, I think they're worth the price of admission.
