AAA's ONE & ONLY 10* N.L. GAME OF MONTH! HUGE 10-1 (91%) MLB RUN!
(MLB) LA Dodgers vs. Pittsburgh,
Money Line: 105.00 Pittsburgh (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: 105.00 Pittsburgh (Home)
Result: Loss
This is a 10* "GAME OF THE MONTH" on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In my opinion, this is the very definition of great line value, a fantastic spot, a hot home side which sends arguably one of the hottest pitchers in the league to the hill. I gave out a free play on the Dodgers last night and am obviously feeling pretty lucky about that victory, LA would post a run in the top of the ninth and hold on for the 4-3 win. But the win came at a cost as shortstop Hanley Ramirez was struck in the hand in the ninth and he's expected to miss tonight's contest; and that's key as the Dodgers are already down slugger Yasiel Puig with injury. The short-handed visiting side will have to contend with the red hot Edinson Volquez (8-6, 3.65 ERA) who has given up one run or none while going at least six frames in three of his last four home games. Note that Volquez has posted a minuscule 0.90 ERA while winning his last four starts overall; note that Volquez is 2-1 with a 2.04 ERA in his last three starts vs. LA. And that's bad news for the Dodgers, despite their great road record, note that they've totaled just 16 runs while hitting a meager .213 over their last eight games away from friendly confines. Pittsburgh will face Hyun-jin Ryu (10-5, 3.44 ERA) who has been pretty decent for the most part all year, but his last start on the road was a disaster though, he'd give up a season-worst seven earned runs over just 2 1/3's innings of work in a loss at Detroit on July 8th. Ryu bounced back with a decent effort in his next outing, but I think runs into a buzzsaw today in the surging Pirates. This is a great situational play, the Dodgers are coming off the late Sunday night ESPN contest and then have to immediately hit the road for another tough game tonight; when throwing in the injury factors, there's no question that PITTSBURGH is the sharp wager in this particular matchup.
