This is a 7* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the LA Angels.
Some times a favorite is a favorite for a reason and in this case I definitely feel that Jered Weaver and the home side should be much bigger ones. Weaver (12-6, 3.59 ERA) will be looking to guide his team to a sixth straight win at home while he's on the bump; note that Weaver is 5-0 with a very respectable 3.46 ERA over his last nine starts overall, giving up two runs over six frames in a 7-5 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Also note that Weaver is a blistering 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA over his last five starts in front of the home town crowd, yielding zero dingers in his last 31 innings at Angels Stadium (and note that Weaver is 3-3 behind a solid 1.99 ERA in nine career home starts vs. Boston). Many of LA's sluggers have feasted on Boston pitching, including Mike Trout who is a career .404 hitter vs. the Red Sox. And that's bad news for Allen Webster (1-1, 6.75 ERA) who has issued 11 walks in eight innings of work; Webster would most recently get shelled for four runs over just 2 2/3's innings of work in his team's 6-4 loss to the Yankees on Saturday (also note that Webster owns a deplorable 8.40 ERA road record). LA will be desperate to take advantage, it's lost three in a row; I believe the writing is on the wall and have no problem at all laying this larger price. Play on the ANGELS.
