This is an 8* TOTAL BLOWOUT on the OVER between the Milwaukee Brewers and the San Francisco Giants.
Neither of these teams has been very hot at the plate of late, but I think the conditions are finally right for a higher-scoring slug-fest in this one. Milwuakee will surely be hungry to break out here, the Brewers have lost five of seven after dropping back to back games to the Friars. It was a tough setback on Wednesday as well as Milwaukee took a 1 run lead into the bottom of the ninth, before eventually falling 3-2 in 10-innings. So now the Brewers sit just 1 1/2 games ahead of St. Louis for the division lead and head to San Francisco for a tough series vs. the dangerous Giants. The visitors turn to Wily Peralta (15-8, 3.56 ERA) who was shelled for eight runs over just five frames of work in a 10-2 loss to the Pirates on Saturday. The home side counters with Ryan Vogelsong (7-9, 3.78 ERA) who gave up three runs and a season-high four walks over 5 1/3's inning in his teams 14-6 loss at Washington on Sunday. Unfortunately for Vogelsong, a date in front of the home town crowd is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked, he's 0-5 with a 4.15 ERA over his last seven at AT&T Park. These are two teams in the thick of the playoff race, neither starter has been impressive of late, I fully expect this total to go OVER the number as the game comes down the stretch.
