AAA's MLB MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT!
(MLB) Arizona vs. San Diego,
Money Line: -153.00 San Diego (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the San Diego Padres.

This is a clear pitching mismatch, so much so in my opinion that I definitely don't have any issues whatsoever in laying what I feel is a very reasonable mid-sized price. The home side looks to Tyson Ross (12-12, 2.64 ERA) who gave up a single run over 6 1/3's innings in a 4-1 win over the Brewers on Tuesday; Ross is now 4-0 with a tiny 1.05 ERA in his last five starts at Petco Park. Despite only going 6-6, Ross has posted a very respectable 1.96 ERA over a run of 13 quality starts. And that's bad news for the Diamondbacks, Ross has owned thme throughout his career in posting a 1.64 ERA in three career home starts vs. them. The Padres will look to get back on the winning track after yesterday's 7-1 loss to the Dodgers derailed their four-game win streak, they'll be especially motivated here as well as they've gone just 2-4 at home vs. Arizona so far this season. The D-Backs are going to break their string of futility on the road some time soon (they've lost six straight away from friendly confines), but I don't think it'll be today; note that Arizona is averaging a paltry 1.8 runs over its last six away from friendly confines. The visitors counter with the inconsistent Trevor Cahill (3-9, 4.98 ERA) who seemed to have gotten back on track over the first half of August, only to once again regress when he was shelled for eight runs over 3 1/3's innings in a 9-5 loss to LA on Tuesday. Cahill has enjoyed success in San Diego, but I think has his hands full today with this much improved hitting Friars line-up. I'm laying the price and taking SAN DIEGO.
