This is a 7* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the LA Dodgers.
After getting blown out in Colorado in consecutive games, I think Zack Greinke and the Dodgers find a way to get the job done at the end of the night in Chicago. The Dodgers still lead the Giants by two games in the NL West after yesterday's embarrasing 16-2 setback. Turning to Greinke (15-8, 2.64 ERA) is just what the doctor ordered to snap the slide, the hard-throwing right-hander has gone 3-0 with a tiny 1.69 ERA over his last five starts, most recently scattering four hits over six frames in a 17-0 win over San Francisco on Saturday. Facing the Cubs is also something that has proven to get LA into the winners circle, it took two of three from them at Dodger Stadium last month and would sweep a four-game set in Chicago last year. The home side sends rookie Tsuyoshi Wada (4-3, 3.34 ERA) to the hill; Wada has struggled of late, he's 0-2 with a pedestrian 5.93 ERA over his last three starts, most recently giving up four runs off nine hits over just 4 1/3's innings in his team's 7-3 setback to the Pirates on Friday. Chicago is coming off a satisfying three-game sweep of Cincinnati and I think is ripe for a letdown in this spot. Greinke definitely gets the big nod on the mound, this line doesn't make sense to me, look for the DODGERS to make the most of this opportunity.
