AAA's VERY EARLY *Marshall/Old Dominion* BLOCKBUSTER!
(NCAAF) Marshall vs. Old Dominion,
Point Spread: 18.00 | -110.00 Old Dominion (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* BLOCKBUSTER on Old Dominion.

I think the home side can keep this one close enough to sneak in through the back door with what I feel to be a pretty healthy amount of points that it's been afforded in this matchup. Marshall I beleive comes in a bit flat footed after last weeks bye, surely it's contented with the fact that it's a perfect 4-0 to start the season, scoring at least 42 points in each of its four contests. ODU has been a bit of surprise so far this year in its first official season at the FBS level and will be looking to get back to its winning ways after a 41-28 home loss to MTSU last weekend. These teams are actually ver similar in many respects, both possess potent offensive units and dynamic QB's leading the charge. The Herd is led by QB Rakeem Cato, who threw for 210 yards and a TD and ran in for two more majors in his team's 48-17 victory over Akron two weeks ago. Marshall's non-conference schedule was pretty light though and I think the book is still out on its defense which has given up 16.2 PPG and 328.2 total offensive YPG thus far. On the other side of the field, Old Dominion was down 24-7 at half time to MTSU last week and was never able to full recover in the second. Regardless, the Monarchs have looked impressive in averaging 33 PPG on 454.6 total yards of offense and are led by QB Taylor Heinicke who is averaging 313.6 passing YPG to date. Defenisively is where ODU lacks, today's game will be the units biggest test so far this season. So while Marshall gets the nod on the defensive end, I don't think the difference between the two teams in that department is as wide as the oddsmakers would lead us to believe today, the home side has a big opportunity today and has the fire power and personnel to keep this one very interesting; all signs point to a comfortable cover for OLD DOMINION.
