(NHL) San Jose vs. Los Angeles,
Money Line: 133.00 San Jose (Away)
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the San Jose Sharks.

I think this sets up as a letdown spot for the home side and believe we're getting excellent value on the hungry visitors who will be all business tonight. San Jose would go up 3-0 on LA last year in the playoffs, only to then lose four straight. The Kings are now without the services of defenseman Willie Mitchell who signed with Florida; the forwards for the most part remain identical for the home side though. San Jose didn't make many offseason changes either: "Last year is over with," Sharks forward Tommy Wingels said. "People are going to want to talk about it, we're going to want to think about it, but you need to eliminate it from your memory because it's over with. Our focus is on the start here and getting off to a good start." San Jose returns Antti Niemi between the pipes, he finished with a career-high 39 wins last year. The strength of Los Angeles will once again be on the back end, anchored by goaltender Jonathan Quick who posted a 2.07 GAA in 49 games. Note that San Jose has won four straight season openers, while LA has lost two straight. "Revenge" is a powerful motivator that handicappers use, in this case I think we're getting excellent value on the SHARKS.
