AAA's EARLY *Falcons/Ravens* BLOCKBUSTER!
(NFL) Atlanta vs. Baltimore,
Point Spread: 7.00 | -120.00 Atlanta (Away)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* BLOCKBUSTER on the Atlanta Falcons.

I think the home side comes in complacent here and the hungry Falcons keep this one close enough to at the very least sneak in through the back door down the stretch with what I feel to be a healthy amount of points that they've been afforded in this one. After a promising start, Atlanta has now lost three straight. The Ravens are trending in the opposite direction and are coming off a big 48-17 rout of Tampa Bay last Sunday, QB Joe Flacco finished with a career-high five TD's. Baltimore would also get a season-high 111 yards on 14 carries from Justin Forset, who is fifth in the league with 408 yards so far. Atlanta has its hands full for sure, but that just adds fuel to the fire in my opinion, the Falcons have in fact lost five straight away from friendly confines: "We've got a tough stretch coming up," quarterback Matt Ryan said. "We can't worry about it. We can't complain about it. We've got to find a way to get it done." Last week the Falcons gained a season-low 287 yards, 42 on the ground, Ryan had his worst game in three seasons. "I'm frustrated, discouraged, disappointed," Atlanta coach Mike Smith said of his defense. "I know we can play a whole lot better than we've played." However, it's not been all doom and gloom for the Dirty Birds, note that Julio Jones continues to be a bright spot, he's third in the league with 620 receiving yards, while RB Steven Jackson has a team-high 263 rushing yards. Note that Atlanta is 5-4 ATS in its last nine as an underdog in the 3.5 to 9.5 points range, while Baltimore is just 4-7 ATS in its last 11 vs. teams with losing records. Also note that this sets up as a classic "look ahead" spot for the home side, which plays in division leader Cincinnati next week. The situation, the numbers and the trends all point to ATLANTA as the savvy wager in this one.
