(NCAAF) Bowling Green vs. Akron,
Point Spread: -6.00 | -120.00 Akron (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* ASSASSIN on Akron.

I jumped on this line the second it came out and got 5.5; it's since risen as of writing, but regardless, I love this play and expect the home side to pull away down the stretch for the comfortable ATS cover. This is a big game for both teams, Bowling Green currently stands in first in the MAC East, Akron is in second. BG is 3-1 in the MAC despite being down starting QB Matt Johnson for nearly the entire season. Bowling Green is coming off a 26-14 loss to Western Michigan at home more than two weeks ago and I think will come in flat footed here. Akron was dominating before QB Kyle Pohl was lost with a head injury against Miami on October 11th, backup Tommy Woodson has been less than impressive. However, take note that Pohl is going to get the start here. The Falcons looked poor against the Broncos, QB James Knapke had just 139 yards while completing 20 of his 33 attempts; in all the team wracked up just 274 total yards of offense. Bowling Green's defense also looked suspect, giving up 166 through the air and another 195 on the ground. All of that doesn't bode well facing this rock solid Akron defensive unit. The home side will certainly be more motivated, it's coming off back to back losses, and with Pohl back under center, I'm expecting a rout. Note that Bowling Green is 0-3 ATS the last two seasons when playing with two weeks of rest, while Akron is 8-6 ATS in its last 14 after two or more consecutive SU losses. All signs point to AKRON as the sharp wager in this contest.
