This is an 8* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Edmonton Oilers and the Nashville Predators.
Neither of these teams is really known for lighting up the scoreboard, but for a number of different situational and trend based reasons, I feel that this total will ultimately eclipse the number once the final horn blares. Both teams come in with confidence and momentum. The Preds return home after a great road trip which has catupulted them into No. 1 in the Central Division, while the Oilers are hoping to post a third straight win. Nashville just went 4-2-0 on a six game road trip and will play in front of the home town faithful for the first time since October 25th. The Oilers won 3-2 over Buffalo on Firday and 3-1 over the Rangers on Sunday (I had Edmonton in that one). There's no question that the visitors will be extra motivated here as they're still 0-6-1 against Western Conference foes this season. Note that Edmonton has already seen the total go OVER the number in all three road games that it's played this year when the number is set at 5, while Nashville has seen it sail above the number in six of its last 11 after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERS. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends all point to the OVER as the savvy move in this one.
