MLB *BIG HITTER*
(MLB) Houston vs. St. Louis,
Money Line: -113.00 St. Louis (Home)
Result: Loss
Play: St. Louis Cardinals
Rating: 8*

The St. Louis Cardinals are red hot and had won five straight before suffering a 5-2 loss at the hands of the Houston Astros last night. I like the Cards to bounce back with a win Wednesday night with Adam Wainwright on the bump.

Wainwright (5-4, 5.21) has turned the season around after his initial struggles and a registered a season-high nine strikeouts and while holding the Reds to two runs and two hits over six innings his last time out. Wainwright has owned Houston throughout his career and enter this game with a 13-1 record a 1.57 ERA and a 0.991 WHIP over 21 meetings (15 starts) with the Astros.

Houston turns to Collin McHugh (5-5, 5.22 ERA) who unlike Wainwright has struggled lately. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings at Texas his last start through which he surrendered four runs on seven hits. McHugh has faced the Cardinals twice in his career, going 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA, the last meeting back in 2013. Only five of the current members of the Cardinals have any experience against McHugh but the Cards have been swinging very hot bats of late and I think they'll get to the 28 year old.

Cardinals are 9-1 in their last 10 after scoring two runs or fewer in their previous game and the Astros are 2-5 in McHugh's last seven road starts.
