(MLB) LA Angels vs. Oakland,
Money Line: -135.00 LA Angels (Away)
Result: Loss
Play: Los Angeles Angels
Rating: 8*

The Texas Rangers opened a nine-game home-stand with a 14-5 win against Texas but have lost each of their past four games since. The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Twins twice before getting Thursday off. They're 13-5 in their last 18 games following an off day and I like the Halos here with the red hot Matt Shoemaker on the mound.

Shoemaker (3-7, 4.76 ERA) tossed eight shutout innings of three-hit ball with 11 strikeouts against Cleveland his last time out. He has a 1.88 ERA in his last five starts and held the A's scoreless in a win at Oakland on April 13. The current members of the A's are batting .207 over 121 at bats against the right-hander.

Oakland turns to Kendall Graveman (2-6, 5.28) who gave up one run in four innings of a 6-1 win at Cincinnati without factoring in the decision his last start. He did put plenty of runners on base though allowing seven hits and a pair of walks, and his 1.65 ERA and .309 batting average against this season are really poor numbers. He's allowed 35 hits and 11 walks covering 24 1/3 innings in his last five starts.

Angels are 14-3 in Shoemakers last 17 road starts vs. a team with a losing record and 4-0 in Shoemakers last four road starts vs. Athletics.
