Rating: 10*

The San Francisco Giants are riding a five-game winning streaks, and I think they'll take the opener of a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.

Jeff Samardzija (7-4, 3.36 ERA) will take the ball for the Giants. The Shark owns a 3.21 ERA in two career starts against Tampa Bay and has its current members limited to a .213 batting average over 75 at bats. He has not been at his best in recent starts but I like him to keep the Rays in check.

Chris Archer (4-8, 4.61) will take the ball for the Rays and he's been struggling even worse than Samardzija lately. The Rays have lost four of his last five starts and the 27 year old has surrendered 17 earned runs in 28 2/3 frames during that stretch. He has a swollen 1.44 WHIP on the year and the Giants are 17-4 in their last 21 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.

Brandon Belt is on an eight-game hitting streak and 3-for-3 with a homer vs. Archer. Belt could return to the lineup Friday after sitting out Wednesday's contest with an ankle problem. The Rays' on the other hand might have to do without their red-hot third baseman Evan Longoria (seven homers, 14 RBIs his last 11 games) who missed Thursday's contest with left forearm tightness and is considered day-to-day.
