Rating: 8*

The New York Yankees are going for their third four-game sweep of the Twins in the last eight seasons Sunday afternoon. I like their chances with the hard-throwing Nathan Eovaldi on the mound.

Eovaldi has been torched for 16 runs and 26 hits in his last three turns, but he's 2-0 in two career starts against the Twins with an ERA of 3.00 and a WHIP of 1.00. He has the current Twins limited to a .190 batting average, although admittedly over a small sample of 42 at bats. Eovaldi is 2-0 with a 3.79 ERA in three day starts in 2016.

Minnesota will turn to Ervin Santana (1-7, 5.10) who owns a 5-9 record and bloated 6.22 ERA against New York. Santana has allowed 15 runs on 25 hits through 17 1/3 innings in his past three starts, and the Twins have lost all but one of his 12 starts on the year. Santana has compiled a 1.50 WHIP this season and the Yankees are 14-4 in their last 18 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
