Early MLB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE*
(MLB) Seattle vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -122.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win
Play: Detroit Tigers
Rating: 8*

The Detroit will be looking to complete the sweep of this four-game set against the Seattle Mariners today, and I think we're getting a reasonable price on the Tigers as we'll see two non-regular starters on the mound.

Left-hander Daniel Norris takes the ball for Detroit as he's set to make his first major league start of the year. Norris was 2-1 with a solid 3.68 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in eight starts for the Tigers last year after getting traded from Toronto. The Mariners have scored just 13 runs during a five-game skid and they're 3-8 in their last 11 games vs. a left-handed starter, so this looks like a good spot for the 23 year old to dip his toes in the big leagues again.

The Mariners turn to right-hander Adrian Sampson (0-1, 7.71 ERA) who'll be making his second start in major leagues. He was knocked around for four runs on eight hits with a pair of homers in a 6-2 loss at Boston in his debut. Detroit's lineup has plenty of bite, and I think Sampson will get roughed up once again.
Tigers are 14-3 in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. We can also note that Detroit's .268 batting average in day games is the third best mark in the American League.
