Play: Baltimore Orioles
Rating: 10*
We won with the AL East best Baltimore Orioles when they defeated the division worst Tampa Bay Rays 6-3 last night, and I'm backing the Orioles again here in Game 2 of a double header on Saturday.
Chris Tillman (10-1, 3.11) takes the ball for Baltimore. He's having a great season and he's been outstanding at Camden Yards with a 7-0 record behind a 2.81 ERA in 10 starts. He's 2-0 with a minuscule 0.77 ERA while covering 11 2/3 innings against the Rays already this year and has its current members limited to a .211 batting average over 199 at bats.
The Rays turn to Jake Odorizzi (3-3, 3.63 ERA), a quality pitcher in his own right. He's struggled with Baltimore throughout his career though and he's 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA while giving up 16 hits in 11 innings this season. The current Baltimore hitters are batting .279 over 136 at bats against the right-hander and Adam Jones is an impressive 9-for-23.
The Rays have lost a season-high eight straight games and they're 1-6 in Odorizzi's last seven road starts vs. a team with a winning record. Orioles are 10-1 in their last 11 second games of a double-header while the Rays are 5-12 in their last 17 second games of a double-header.
