Money Line: -142.00 Miami (Away)
Result: Win
Play: Miami Marlins
Rating: 8*
I'm looking for the Miami Marlins to rebound from a 9-1 defeat to the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. This contest will be held at Fort Bragg Field in North Carolina as the first major-league regular-season game played on an active U.S. military base.
Adam Conley (4-5, 3.90 ERA) takes the ball for Miami. The left-hander had surrendered just one run through 13 2/3 innings in his last two starts prior to surrendering five in 4 1/3 innings at Detroit. He's 1-0 with a 1.46 ERA in two starts against the Braves this season so this looks like a good spot for him to get back on track.
The Braves turn to Matt Wisler (3-7, 4.14 ERA) who held Cleveland to a pair of runs in six innings his last start. Atlanta still lost the game 5-3 as the bullpen cost it the game, not for the first time ... Conley has given up eight walks in his last three starts and I think he'll struggle with a Miami offense that ranks in the top 10 in the majors for both batting average and on base percentage.
Braves are 16-38 in their last 54 games vs. a left-handed starter and 0-4 in their last four games following a win. The Marlins are 7-1 in Conley's last eight starts following a team loss in their previous game.
