MLB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE*
(MLB) Texas vs. Chi Cubs,
Money Line: -179.00 Chi Cubs (Home)
Result: Win
Play: Chicago Cubs
Rating: 5*

The Texas Rangers entered the All Star break with a 54-36 record while going 25-21 on the road. I don't see them doing quite so well in the second half of the season though and this looks like a reasonable price on the Chicago Cubs with Kyle Hendricks on the mound.

Hendricks (7-6, 2.55) has been straight up dominant lately with a 1.08 ERA through his last five outings covering 25 innings of work. He has not lost since June 13 at Washington and the right-hander is 5-1 with a 1.97 ERA in nine appearances home at Wrigley on the season. Texas' Martin Perez (7-5, 3.85 ERA) is 1-4 with a 5.23 ERA in nine road starts on the season. Perez gave up 11 runs (seven earned) through four innings against Boston his last time out.
Cubs are 4-1 in Hendricks' last five starts with seven or more days of rest, Rangers are 1-6 in their last seven games vs. a right-handed starter. Rangers are 1-4 in the last five meetings.
